Lifes a Diet

Decided that I desperately need to shift the blubber, I must have said this every month for a number of years and one year I successfully lost two stone but it is creeping back on slowly but steadily. So my first goal is to shed seven pounds.

Sounds easy when I put it like that but as all dieters know the moment you say you are on a diet all sort of gorgeous tasty things start floating before your eyes driving you almost to a frenzy.

If it's not cakes

It's the smell of a takeaway or restaurant.

Or the lure of a packet of crisps, which I indulge several times each week.

A form of TORTURE denying yourself these goodies but it has to be done. And as the irritating saying goes, no pain, no gain.

I have taken my measurements and weighed myself today. I have to say even though I have lost about four pounds since I last weighed myself a few months back, despite not dieting, my measurements and weight are jaw dropping. Thought if I blog about it, I may be more successful in my endeavour.

Am not going to follow any particular diet but for the first fortnight I will cutting out  bread, butter, cakes, crisps, chocolates and takeaways. Not to mention Kates pack of two belgian chocolate cookies and the belgian chocolate mousse both I buy on a regular basis. Jeez no wonder am overweight. Let you know how successful I am.

I shall weigh myself every fortnight and report back to my blog hopefully with some good news.

You're welcome to join me and report your progress if you wish.

On the diet front I will be back in a fortnight.

Just off for a takeaway . . .

Only kiddin.

  1. You can do it Sassy T. For myself, I had to realize that diets just don't work, not long term that is. That's what helped me lose the weight, by treating my eating and exercise routines as a way of life. I no longer count calories or cut one particular food group. I simply eat senisble, wathcing my intake, get at least 30 to 40 min. of exercise 4 days a week, and I am still managing to lose 2-3 pounds a week.. I said all this to say that you can do!

I'm in the same boat as you! Some time in mmmm February I did the croquis for my body per the Colette Sewing Handbook....OMG it really brought me down a few notches to know that I had gotten THAT big. I cut out all beverages except water(soooo hard) and have been watching my portions. It all really helped and I lost about 10lbs. When hubby came home on rotation, it threw a wrench into my routines, eating out and celebrating. Now that he is gone again I'm back on my fitness grind and hopefully when he comes back it will be so much apart of my habits that he can't break them!
